Toilet handle or toilet lever. I would advise purchasing a brass one, usually chrome finish as the cheap plastic ones often fail early. The arm that sits inside the cistern comes with the handle as part of the kit and the majority of them are adjustable so they will suit many different situations. Any plumber's merchant or DIY store will stock them.
