I am in the process of leaving the armed forces and looking at resettlement opportunities. Due to funding after serving 21 years the military assist with funding courses but they need to be a level 3 or above. I have found a training provider which is an intensive 5 week course. Then followed by a level 3 diploma in plumbing studies (6035-03). Which is on line learning followed by 9 months home study and every 5th week at training centre. I am aware that having the NVQ side opens up more opportunities. My question is once I have passed level 3 diploma can I then do the level 2 NVQ as I am struggle to find any NVQ level 2 qualified plumbers let a NVQ level 3. Guidance would be very grateful I've sent an email to C&G to ask tje question but not had a responce but exspect it's due to Covid. TVM for your time

Nickc1, I would advise you to steer clear of this particular training provider and the 6035 course.
The 6035 qualifications were designed primarily for 16-18 year olds as a college based ‘full time’ course. There is no NVQ available to complete the qualification at level 3.
The new Standard Trail Blazer is the only real route into the industry ( a four year course which concludes with a Level 3, there is no Level 2 anymore).
Contact the CIPHE for more advise.
Good Luck & Best Wishes.

Hello all, I’m replacing a concrete paving slab patio in the back yard. The original patio used 50mm deep concrete slabs on hardcore & sand. I’m planning to pour a 100mm deep concrete patio on 100mm hardcore. In order to achieve the same final height to line up with the rest of the patio, I...

We run a community village hall and have a large kitchen provided for the use of hirers. This includes a Lincat SLR9 gas cooker which I believe is a 23.8Kw appliance with all six burners and oven on max. This was installed some 10 years ago and has passed all subsequent Gas Safety inspections as...
