has anyone had much to do with combined heat & power units, we are looking at possibly going into the biomass CHP market as the Rhi on <200kw biomass boilers will be practically killed when the 25% drop comes in july.

Looked at it a couple of times, not gone there .. yet.. which manufacturers are you looking at ?

It has good possibilities, for reasonably sized power users - the key is in using all the power that's produced and in needing heat all year round. I can think of a few installation environments when it makes sense.

Been looking at the froling chp, 100kw heat, 50kw electric. But I think we will be looking for bigger +500kw systems. Need to look for hospitals, gyms, swimming pools, etc as you say somewhere that can use the heat all year round

Recently had a Viessmann Vitodens combi boiler installed, quite often when the adjacent cold mixer tap is opened the boiler starts for a few seconds! Can anyone tell me what is causing this? And how to cure?
