Discuss Can anyone identify this pipe? in the USA area at PlumbersForums.net

Hello,
I have a pipe running up my kitchen wall and I am wondering if anyone can identify it and advise if I can just cut it away.
I know it isn't the current gas pipe as I have had a new boiler installed and re located to the kitchen from an upstairs bedroom. I am also in the process of replacing the old lead water pipe too so it shouldn't be an active water pipe.
It was boxed in before we took some walls down in the kitchen so it wasn't used before we moved in.
I have attached a few pictures.
If anyone has seen this before and can advise I would be most grateful.
Thanks.

Old gas main best to phone up the gas utility to double check it’s dead then you can cut it off at the bottom
