I have a Remeha Tzerra M 24c Plus boiler. It is sitting nice and tight, next to the central ventilation unit/pipeline of the apartment block. That central unit is rather big, I assume around 50cmx50cm and at least 20m tall. So the exhaust ventilation pipe of the boiler goes directly out to this central unit. The ugly part is that the intake ventilation pipe of the boiler crosses the whole apartment and comes literally from the other side of the house. It's a very ugly pipe, which is at least 10m long.

My question is, could I install the intake ventilation pipe to take oxygen from the central ventilation unit of the apartment block?

Please let me know if such a move is risky for the boiler's life (or mine/neighbors)!

No you can’t sorry

You can’t take the boiler air intake from the building supply air

@ShaunCorbs why?
The central unit is an exhaust unit, it's does not provide air to any apartment

Because if a seal fails you could kill everyone with carbon monoxide also it’s in your states codes you can’t

I could kill everyone IN my apartment or OUT of my apartment (aka neighbours)?
In the current setup all the gas waste goes into that central ventilation unit, so all the carbon monoxide goes in there. I don't see how I could do more damage than that

Yes and your on about taking the supply air for that also from there ?

Because you can’t take the supply and vent from the same duct / source

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...

I have a plumber coming tomorrow to change a cartridge on a badly dripping tap on my bathroom mixer unit. There is no separate isolating valve for this tap so I'll have to close the stopcock. I tried closing it today but it won't go absolutely 100% closed and there is still a very slight flow...
