Hi,
I'm at a loss and need your help.
I have the attached mixer.
Water is leaking from the seal (yellow arrow)
I figured this is a washer replacement.
I've opened the screw cap (blue arrow) The screw inside is completely rusted and the head on it damaged.
The screw also turns with the handle.
I've been on Google and tried hammering the screw to loosen.
I've tried wd40, I currently have white vinegar soaked in there.
Firstly am I right in thinking if I can get this screw out, I can change washers?
Secondly, any advice on how I can get it out?
Thanks so much

Would need to see the severity of rust to ascertain if the screw can be removed. Likely an o-ring to fix the leak.

Thanks that's what I thought. I'll try and get a picture of the screw.
The head is bad, obviously down to previous person trying to undo.
I've seen can drill them out, just didn't want to go at it too hard at the moment in case I make the situation worse!
Thanks again

Good news, got the screw off! Bad news now stuck again.
The brass spindle now moves with the silver part that the handle turns.
Tried brute force but not moving.
Unsure if it's all one unit or this is now stuck.
What do you think?
Thanks for your time
Claire
