hi guys. A customer has supplied a basin with a slotted waste. Problem is the basin has an overflow pipe that obviously needs to connect into the waste. They’ve handed me an extra fitting which fits over the waste but I think inevitably it’s going to leak. I’ll attach a picture for a better understanding. My question is whether there’s a better fitting for it?

As above, silicone on the top and bottom connections, I've installed a fair amount of those over the years and never had an issue. They look more of a problem then they actually are.

So what stops it piddling out from the bottom off the plastic housing that sits round the waste? All that’s there is a nut?
