Hi. This one has me foxed. How do I remove the head of this tap to change the washer? The cap unscrews and lifts only as far as the knobbly top (which is moulded to the centre post). When the cap is unscrewed I can just see the thread inside but no nut to turn - even if I had an ultra thin spanner. There is no release screw under the plastic cover on the top, nor one inside the fitting when I unscrew the porcelain handle. Any ideas? Thanks

Might be a trick of the light but the top chrome part that has /did have the H & C in it looks to have a flat on the side, is there one opposite, if so that'll be for removing it with a small spanner /adjustable.

Thanks for your suggestion. The chrome ball at the top is round and turns with the centre post. Do you mean that (even if) the top is moulded to the post, it should be unscrewed in situ?

I would assume that removing the handle would release top ball.

It may need a little convincing, but I would expect it to lift up to remove the bonnet

Hi, Can anyone advise as to why the cold water to my bathroom keeps airlocking? This originally happened about 12 months ago and has happened 3-4 times since. It’s an upstairs bathroom, fed from a tank in the attic. The tank is about 8 Meters away and feeds a bath, sink and toilet. The tank...
