We already have BG Hive but are replacing our boiler and may choose an ATAG.

Hive indicate that their system is not compatible with some Worcester/Bosch boilers so I'm wondering if anyone can confirm that Hive is OK with ATAG

Purely as a matter of interest what would prevent Hive working with some boilers? i.e. from a simple technical view?

yes will work and will work with Worcester boilers as well

They wont work on the Worcester greenstar HE + boilers or british gas RD532i or RD542i boilers which are rebranded models of the HE + manufactured between 2003 and 2006. These boilers are only compatible with one type of room thermostat which is the Worcester TR2.

can i ask why?

They don't have thermostat connections, just some funky data communication because the TR2 constantly monitors the room temp to maintain the boiler at a constant minimum temperature for optimisation. I come across this problem when fitting the OWL kits when they was being trialled for john lewis 4-5 years ago.
