Hi all,

Wet room floor is being tiled, was originally disability vinyl type flooring stuff. Unsure what the tiler has planned for the existing drain but wondered if I could just replace the top of it to a tile one? And get him to tile up to it?
I cant see anything identifying my existing shower gully drain but wondered if the conversion kit that mcalpine sell would work? is there a way to know? (unsure if there are other kits?) Or has anyone any ideas or work arounds?

I was gonna email to ask but they state will not accept enquiries from non professionals.
Pic attached of first image I could find.

Looks like and akw trap and converter

You could try and see if the bolts line up and the height does but I would stop works until you find out as if it doesn’t the trap will need to be replaced

Thanks @ShaunCorbs .
Was worried it might be that, I assume that would mean digging up the concrete?

Yep but tbh it’s worth £52 to find out if your lucky

Screwfix stock them ? As you could take it back if it doesn’t line up

Thanks fingers crossed. Appreciate the help.
Wondering why the tiler didn't bring up .

Edit: @ShaunCorbs , thinking about it if the kit lines up, the bolts etc, would that be a sound drain? Or do I need to check something else? Is it as simple as if it fits, it fits? as it looks at though its just the top metal bit that is shaped that'll make it flush to the tile?

Edit 2: can't seem to spot it at screwfix...maybe its my mobile.

Tiler is not concerned about the plumbing, just his bit. Plumbers job that.
Oh yes I agree its a plumbers job, I was just musing as to why he didn't mention it or anything to do with finish around the drain. Im the one who started wondering about changing the drain.
