which
Which? is a United Kingdom brand name that promotes informed consumer choice in the purchase of goods and services by testing products, highlighting inferior products or services, raising awareness of consumer rights and offering independent advice. The brand name is used by the Consumers' Association, a registered charity and company limited by guarantee that owns several businesses, including Which? Financial Services Limited (Which? Mortgage Advisers), Which? Legal Limited and Which? Limited, which publishes the Which? Papers.
The vast majority of the association's income comes from the profit it makes on its trading businesses, for instance subscriptions to Which? magazine, which are donated to the campaigning part of the organisation to fund advocacy activity and inform the public about consumer issues. Which? magazine maintains its independence by not accepting advertising, and the organisation receives no government funding. The Consumers' Association is the largest consumer organisation in the UK, with over 573,000 subscribers to its magazine.Until 2006, the association used prize draws similar to those of Reader's Digest to attract subscribers, but following criticism they were discontinued. The Association now attracts subscribers to its publications with free mini-guides and trial offers.

I have a combi boiler central heating system (Worcester Bosch). The room stat is in the hall way, not ideal you may think, but we have a log burner in the lounge and the hall is centrally located so is a reasonable place for it given the house layout. At the moment I have Honywell digital...
Radiators keep coming on and off, could just be a coincedence but I have noticed this happens on really cold days/nights. Frost protection?
I have the Hot Water and Radiotor dial on the boiler turned to half way.

What a bizarre way to put it!? Someone who’s been trained is likely to do a better job than someone working illegally.

Hi Guys
New to this forum so excuse me if this question has already been raised.
I am about to install an oil central heating system and wondered which boiler you guys recommend I have been quoted for both Warmflow UC120 HE and a Worcester Greenslave Heatslave 25/32 but some reviews favour a...
Apologies if this is a double post, I thought I had posted a message but I can't see it.
I had a radiator which wasn't getting hot and on closer inspection I found the locking nut was loose. As no water was leaking I unscrewed it completely. What I found was a valve with a central pin slightly...
I have recently had a new replacement oil fired boiler installed in the garage as well as a new wireless timer/programmer which is located beside the new boiler. My previous programmer was a Horstmann Coronet mechanical timer which is inside the house. This old timer is still used as part of...
Evening all !
I recently had the wax bulb break on one of my radiator TRVs, so I took the thermostatic top off the valve, checked the pin was working correctly(which it was) so got a replacement Drayton RT212.
Fitted the new top only with no problem, three days later the wax bulb had burst...
Hi,
I need some recommendations on how to improve the central heating in my house. We have a 35kw combi boiler which pushes out good hot water to the taps and manages to heat up all the downstairs radiators just fine. The ones on the middle and top floor are warm or luke warm at best though...
Hi all, going to replace my boiler have a potterton promax 24he regular boiler 14 years old having continuous ignition lockout and has started leaking so has to go , looking at a couple of cheap boilers the potterton gold 24kw open vent which would prob be a straight swap and just seen a...
Hello forum,
Can anyone please tell me, is there such a thing as a cylinder stat with a wider than standard temperature range?
I have a bog standard one now which holds temperature to (I guess about) +/- 5 oC from set point. I'd like one that has maybe a 20 oC range, so it comes on at 50 oC...
Has anyone ever used fluorescent dye and UV torch to trace leaks in heating systems?
Any good?
Any reviews...?
What do you guys do if leak sealer doesn't work and there are no visible leaks from boiler of rads/valves..?
hi

Hi everyone,
I have a central heating system with a Worcester Bosch combi boiler which was installed 15 years ago by British Gas, but on two occasions in the last couple of months the boiler has become unresponsive when I use the thermostat to adjust the room temperature. The thermostat is a...
I am looking for some advice on which 150litre indirect invented stainless cylinder to buy. We were going for a Gledhill, but the plumbers merchant is suggesting an Elson Zircon would be as good, but cheaper. Any recommendations on which to buy, or any other better brands would be much...
