Hi - I have a Spring Operated Pop-up Basin Plug (not the rod type) It moves up and down freely but it won't stay down so I can only use the washbasin with the water running. It's only about a year old. Can I adjust it in any way myself please?
I just had installed a Navien NPE-2 with built in recirculator pump. I have a dedicated return line. The check valve for the recirc is built into the unit; a spring check valve was placed on the cold line (per the manual) after which there is an expansion tank (on the cold line) in a T junction...

I'm totally clueless about plumbing but watched a bunch of YouTube videos and thought changing a washer to stop a leaky shower would be simple enough. I was stumped at the first hurdle and couldn't seem to get the flange off. There's a spring and two plastic parts on the spindle, preventing it...
I live in an old cottage which is fed off a spring. A new house has been built at the end of the row so an opportunity to connect to the mains has come up. The current set up is the feed comes in, goes through a filter, into a pump to a tank in the loft then is gravity fed. The pressure is...
Hi,
I live in an old cottage which is still fed off a spring. There's very little pressure in the system which comes in, then is pumped up to a tank in the loft and is gravity fed. A new house has been built on the end of the row so an opportunity to connect to mains water has come up.
Would...

Evening all,
I've been asked to fit a whole house filter for a customer whose house is spring fed. I'm thinking of a UV filter plus a three cartridge system but I've not done one before. Can anyone tell me the best way to do it?
Thanks,
Jock
just had a plumber lay new copper piping in my bathroom and the piping on the bends are very stretched and corrugated. ( more corrugation than my old tin shed)
is this detrimental to the pipe as it is going to be behind wetwall.
they have also used some OLD copper piping in places under the...
Hi All,
We live in a hard water area and the Armitage Shanks Cottage Diverter S9678AA on our bath has started to stick. I have taken it off and while the spring and bottom plunger just pull out I can't see how separate the other parts to clean to clean it. Any advice on how to get it apart...
I have never noticed this before but my motorised valve is getting warm. The heating and hot water are off as I use my immersion to heat my hot water. It could be heat from the hot water tank but seems a bit hotter than I would expect. All worked OK in the Winter / Spring. The lever on the side...

Hi there - I have just bought a suspended sink unit which only came with the sink, the unit it fits into and the slatted spring waste. What I need to know is what items I should buy to complete installation, especially for the slatted spring waste, as I can't understand what I can buy to...
Anyone know if you have to change anything else other than leaving the white wire of the momo in a block on its own ? Do I have to change anything with the stat ?
I ve just been to a job at a farmhouse up on top of a mountain.
The house is plumbed out with JG speedfit and the customer told me that the house has been plumbed out with plastic as the water feeding the property is not mains supply but fed from a spring, and the water corrodes the copper!

Hi all,
We turned our heating on yesterday for the first time in a few months, and now it won't turn off again.
It was turned on at the timer/control panel, but when it was turned off again at the panel, the boiler kept going and the radiators were still being fed hot water. (Hot water control...

Hey has any one used the texhnique of running 10mm microbore copper pipes behind the skirting board and sweeping out to radiator valve. Like the picture below. Guessing you use an external spring to bend the pipe?
Any of you guys know how to set one of these valves (see link)
Toolstation
never fitted one before and as it's got no markings on, don't know where to set it.
Cheers
Hi,
the house we moved into has an old Glow-worm space saver BR60 MkII heat only boiler running a fully pumped open vented system with one 3 port valve.
as expected the water I drained is full of crud so want to install a mag filter and give the system a general clean.
Due to concrete floors...
