rubber

Rubber, also called India rubber, latex, Amazonian rubber, caucho, or caoutchouc, as initially produced, consists of polymers of the organic compound isoprene, with minor impurities of other organic compounds. Thailand and Indonesia are two of the leading rubber producers. Types of polyisoprene that are used as natural rubbers are classified as elastomers.
Currently, rubber is harvested mainly in the form of the latex from the rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) or others. The latex is a sticky, milky and white colloid drawn off by making incisions in the bark and collecting the fluid in vessels in a process called "tapping". The latex then is refined into rubber that is ready for commercial processing. In major areas, latex is allowed to coagulate in the collection cup. The coagulated lumps are collected and processed into dry forms for sale.
Natural rubber is used extensively in many applications and products, either alone or in combination with other materials. In most of its useful forms, it has a large stretch ratio and high resilience, and also is water-proof.
Industrial demand for rubber-like materials began to outstrip natural rubber supplies by the end of the 19th century, leading to the synthesis of synthetic rubber in 1909 by chemical means.

Saniflo type systems, are there jobs plumbers don't do.

I was talking to someone who said he had a Saniflo system though he had difficulty remembering the name so it could be something else. It sounded like the wc is some way from the waste and needed an inline pump to give it an extra push, but this had stopped working properly and no plumbers...

What is the name of the plastic under a sink tap?

Hi, I've been trying to find a 'washer' to replace what used to be under the hot sink tap of a neighbour of mine, and I don't know what it's called (thus I can't find it online). It's the flat plastic disc (with a hole in it!) which goes in between the top of the sink, and the base of the tap...

    Leaking Stop Tap

My stop tap is leaking slightly around the spindle. Not a lot but it won't get better. Is it a packed gland that's failed and how do I rectify. I don't think I need to shut off outside to do this (or do I ). The water board are fitting a new stop tap in the high way as the old one is shot.
