pipe fitting
A fitting or adapter is used in pipe systems to connect straight sections of pipe or tube, adapt to different sizes or shapes, and for other purposes such as regulating (or measuring) fluid flow. These fittings are used in plumbing to manipulate the conveyance of water, gas, or liquid waste in domestic or commercial environments, within a system of pipes or tubes.
Fittings (especially uncommon types) require money, time, materials, and tools to install, and are an important part of piping and plumbing systems. Valves are technically fittings, but are usually discussed separately.
Hello, I have sewer pipe with a rodding access point that dates from the 1950s. It is a cast iron pipe with a brass plug/cap (see photo). My question is: is there a special tool/spanner for opening this? Many thanks.
Hi all,

Hi
What kind if elbow soil pipe fitting is this?
Is it push fit rubber O ring or some kind of solvent weld?
I want to know if it is demountable without causing damage to the vertical soil pipe fitting
Installed in 1966.
Getting a Mcalpine washing machine standpipe, it has a compression fitting. Will solvent weld pipe fit in this, i hear that some pipes are larger than others. Floplast pipe if that makes any difference.
Hi,
Can anyone help identify this fitting? I'm not sure whether just to remove it or not, or whether it's an old-style service valve or something?
The pipes look the same size either side, and it's leading up to the taps in the bathroom.
Many thanks for any help!
