Help please can anyone tell me how to remove this older model Francis Pegler shower backplate, there are no signs of a grub screw
or a socket headed screw. It cant be rotated either because of the border tiles. Thanks
My mother lives in Zimbabwe. She has some old taps that leak like crazy. I bought her some new ones, but the way they have the sink fitted, there is no way to get to them in without ripping a steel frame built to hold the sink.
So the old taps need new washers. They are pegler taps. I am in UK...
i notice on Pegler’s website that they don’t recommend jointing compound on their compression / Prestex fittings and i wonder what people’s real-world experiences are with them, if not using compound? is it the case that higher-quality fittings genuinely don’t require any compound? TIA
Good evening. Would anybody be able to identify a Pegler valve? Its located in our airing cupboard on the cold water supply. I think it might be a filter perhaps. The gauge has not worked for a while so I was planning on replacing it. The problem comes with knowing what it is! This system was...
Quick question. I installed some Pegler lever ball valves (22mm, water) and because I was tired I messed up my red/blue hot/cold colour code. Rather than swap the valves over (which I can do) can I just swap the handles over?

Hi Guys,
I have a old Pegler basin tap which is leaking. I want to replace the washer but I have no idea how to get the cross top handle off. The top of the handle has a red hard plastic indice which I tried to remove to try to get to the screw but it seems impossible to remove. Any ideas on...
Got a customer who has called me in after an absolute nightmare with a cowboy builder and an ex-friend project managing her renovation.
I feel really sorry for her, she was actually crying when explaining what had gone on when I first went round.
Anyway, she has a basin mixer that she really...
Hi I am new to this forum so I hope I'm doing it right. I have recently moved to another house which has three identical Pegler basin mixer taps however one appears not to be operating as per the other two. I think these taps are quite old and I have tried to provide a photo but so far no luck...
Went to a call out today for a bath tap that was stiff and not opening, took it apart and it's just a normal looking valve. Got a new one to put in but was too slim so didnt screw into the threads. Put on the conversion piece, went to put it in again but this time it was too wide.
Anyone ever...
Good afternoon,
I have been asked to replace a stopcock under the sink with a 1/4 turn pegler style valve on the incoming main. I have had a look through water regs and it doesn't say you can't (or should I say I didn't see it!) so wondering if anyone has any views.

Hi,
We have Pegler TRVs installed and in one of the
rooms it seems to have stopped working.
When the heating is on the radiator remains
hot even when the valve is set to zero.
If anyone has an idea how we can fix this I would
really appreciate it because I would like to have a go...

Good little story from today.
Was thinking about how much better lever valves are then gate valves. I think around 1 in 10 gates actually work nowadays. It lead me to think how long have lever valves been about and will they last a lot longer then gate valves.
Never came across a lever valve...
Hope someone can help. It appears that the cold water isolating valve to my washing machine is not shutting off the water completely. I can't get a plumber for 2 weeks, could this actually cause the valve itself to leak to the outside?
Hi all hope somebody can help me here. I was called to a job a few days ago to sort out a float valve that was letting by. spoke to pegler as I couldnt get any details on it. They told me what it was and gave me the details of spares. They said it was their 901 equilibrium type. I told them the...
Hi,
I have what I believe is called a Dual Control Deck Mounted Bath Filler tap. It's taps have become stiff to turn on and off. It's handles seem to be push fit - no provision for screw fitting. I think it may be a Pegler Haze tap. I wrote to them and they replied that - 'The handles are...
Hi,
I have an old Pegler cold tap. The top has four prongs and a small plastic circle in the middle, but there's no grub screw to unscrew. Will there be a screw under the plastic circle? It seems difficult to remove (bloody impossible, actually) without completely wrecking it.
Or should the...
