Human physical appearance is the outward phenotype or look of human beings.
There are infinite variations in human phenotypes, though society reduces the variability to distinct categories. The physical appearance of humans, in particular those attributes which regarded as important for physical attractiveness, are believed by anthropologists to affect the development of personality significantly and social relations. Humans are acutely sensitive to their physical appearance. Some differences in human appearance are genetic, others are the result of age, lifestyle or disease, and many are the result of personal adornment.
Some people have linked some differences with ethnicity, such as skeletal shape, prognathism or elongated stride. Different cultures place different degrees of emphasis on physical appearance and its importance to social status and other phenomena.
The other day I tried flushing one of the toilets in our house, but the handle went straight down and I heard the sound of plastic breaking. Part of the 3 piece cistern had somehow become detached from a groove lock holding it in place.
The action of turning the flush handle sharply managed to...
It looks as though the bath plug is leaking even though the water is dripping further up the basin as it were (i.e. in the direction of the overflow pipe/towards the camera) and not from the area immediately around the plug. I'm not too confident in replacing the plug (visions of flooding after...
Hello everybody I am new to this group and I am not a gas engineer but have some basic plumbing experience.
Anyway, I have recently bought a house and the previous owner had a worcester 28i greenstar boiler fitted in 2011 by British Gas. There is paperwork to suggest it has been serviced on a...

Okay,
I'll post this, and then we'll move on.
Croppie, APPlumbing, BOD and gas man have moved on and are no longer part of UKPlumbersForums.co.uk. We've decided to go down different routes it seems.
So I thank them all for their hard work over the years.
Let's move on from this now and...
Hi all, my first post here :)
I've recently installed a Grohe Precision Joy, and notice that the pressure is lower than my old shower head (gravity fed system).
The instructions come with the following picture which seems to imply I can change the connector depending on my water flow...
Afternoon all.
We are getting black oily bits coming from the hot water only in the bath. We have only plastic pipes. Boiler has been checked out and is all ok and in good working order. Can anyone help to get to the bottom with it. My wife is due to give birth in 8 weeks and she can't rest...
just had a plumber lay new copper piping in my bathroom and the piping on the bends are very stretched and corrugated. ( more corrugation than my old tin shed)
is this detrimental to the pipe as it is going to be behind wetwall.
they have also used some OLD copper piping in places under the...
Hi
I've moved into a new house and the boiler is located outside against the wall of the house. The boiler housing its self is made from stainless steel and has a make shift wooden door. Inside there is some old think insulation covered in aluminium foil but it's that old it's falling apart...
Went to apartments with this set up. It's got an 18l expansion vessel. To pipes out the top. 2 central immersions going into the fuse board on the front. A pipe coming out midway with a grunfoss pump then goes back into cylinder. 1 pipe with pump(central heating) going into it.
There's a 2...
Hey guys, sorry for the intrusion, not a plumber myself but..
Can someone please identify this part of my central heating system, it has recently sprung a leak.
Many thanks Alan.

I often find on replacing a boiler I have to unsolder a joint far too close to the ceiling than makes me comfortable!! How do you guy say do it without setting fire to the house, I'm always worried the flame will catch something in the ceiling...
this is is an example, the 22mm flow pipe...
First time posting so thank you for any help in advance.
I can't seem to open what I believe is a Lockshield valve, turning anti-clockwise and will not budge. I'm trying to turn the spindle in the centre.
Never had a radiator before and not entirely sure that is the issue is there something...
Daughter's boiler, Alpha CB28, increases in pressure to the point the pressure release valve is kicking in. This is even when it's not being used (unoccupied flat), and can rise from 1.5 bar to 3.5 overnight!
Boiler works fine for both heating and hot water otherwise.
i have eliminated it...

Right, I've got the hang of the DuoTech coupled to the NEST but, sadly, I have a problem with an EcoBlue 33 now.
I've wired it as in the diagram attached but I can't seem to get it to fire on the CH. Fine on the DHW. The NEST is working fine, as far as I can tell. It's got 12V from the T1 T2...
