Installed base (also install base, install[ed] user base or just user base) is a measure of the number of units of a product or service that are actually in use, as opposed to market share, which only reflects sales over a particular period. Although the install base number is often created using the number of units that have been sold within a particular period, it is not necessarily restricted to just systems, as it can also be products in general. For products which are in use on some machines for many years, the installed base count will be higher than sales over a given period. Some people see it as a more reliable indicator of a platform's usage rate.
Installed base is not the same as the total number of units sold at any given moment in time (***ulative sales numbers), since some of those units will typically be out of use because they have broken, gone missing, or been made obsolete or replaced by newer versions.

    Smart meter installed correctly?

An OVO fitter installed a gas meter and said we would smell gas for 24-48 hours. I took a look in the meter box and saw a load of putty and sealant around pipe that goes into the property. Just wondered if this looks like it's been done correctly? Or if we should get it looked at.

How to check if air tight trapped sealed gully was installed as designed?

I have a Zip water heater installed in a cupboard under the kitchen island. There is not normally any discharge into the Zip "font" in the worktop other than maybe a small amount of near-boiling water. The Zip guy accused us of chucking dregs down there, which I categorically deny. There is a...

Heating Pump not horizontally installed by BG and noisy

My heating pump was installed by BG with the motor shaft at a 45 degree angle. Could that account for why it is so noisy? From what I have read, pumps should always be installed with the motor shaft horizontal so that the bearings wear evenly. Should I ask BG to sort it out on the next boiler...
