Together they own about 14% of its publicly-listed shares and control 56% of the stockholder voting power through super-voting stock. The company went public via an initial public offering (IPO) in 2004. In 2015, Google was reorganized as a wholly-owned subsidiary of Alphabet Inc.. Google is Alphabet's largest subsidiary and is a holding company for Alphabet's Internet properties and interests. Sundar Pichai was appointed CEO of Google on October 24, 2015, replacing Larry Page, who became the CEO of Alphabet. On December 3, 2019, Pichai also became the CEO of Alphabet. In 2021, the Alphabet Workers Union was founded, mainly composed of Google employees. The company's rapid growth since incorporation has included products, acquisitions, and partnerships beyond Google's core search engine, (Google Search). Google has also experimented with becoming an Internet carrier (Google Fiber and Google Fi).

It has received significant criticism involving issues such as privacy concerns, tax avoidance, censorship, search neutrality, antitrust and abuse of its monopoly position.

Why we don't allow connected accounts on the forum anymore (Facebook, Google, Yahoo, Microsoft etc)

Some years ago when Facebook launched they were not so bad. As time went on, they joined the older crew (Yahoo and Google - And MSN, now Bing or whatever they're going by on their 4th or 5th attempt of being search engine and / or profile system) in allowing website owners to use their already...

    Google ads

I've got a lot of data regarding the Google ads now so will remove most of them for you guys on the staff, and also the members who post the most. Long-term that type of user goes ad-blind anyway, and it's just more scrolling around for nothing. And the Cost-Per-Click ratio reduces so we...

Google star rating - bit of a rant.

I finally got 5 reviews on my Google ranking, all of them 5 star reviews, so Google will now display my star ranking when someone searches for a plumber and I am one of the results. Problem is that Google shows a 4.8 star rating even though all my reviews are 5 star. I've done a bit of research...

Are these qualifications recognised/worth anything in the UK?

I'm asking basically out of pure interest as things are good here in Guernsey and I have no intention of leaving.
