future

The future is the time after the past and present. Its arrival is considered inevitable due to the existence of time and the laws of physics. Due to the apparent nature of reality and the unavoidability of the future, everything that currently exists and will exist can be categorized as either permanent, meaning that it will exist forever, or temporary, meaning that it will end. In the Occidental view, which uses a linear conception of time, the future is the portion of the projected timeline that is anticipated to occur. In special relativity, the future is considered absolute future, or the future light cone.In the philosophy of time, presentism is the belief that only the present exists and the future and the past are unreal. Religions consider the future when they address issues such as karma, life after death, and eschatologies that study what the end of time and the end of the world will be. Religious figures such as prophets and diviners have claimed to see into the future.
Future studies, or futurology, is the science, art, and practice of postulating possible futures. Modern practitioners stress the importance of alternative and plural futures, rather than one monolithic future, and the limitations of prediction and probability, versus the creation of possible and preferable futures. Predeterminism is the belief that the past, present, and future have been already decided.
The concept of the future has been explored extensively in cultural production, including art movements and genres devoted entirely to its elucidation, such as the 20th-century move futurism.

Future ensuite - capped water / waste water install

I am having a house built and I want to provide capped hot/cold water and waste water to a bedroom for a future ensuite. I don't want the builder to do the ensuite now because I am already over budget. They are saying they can't provide capped water and waste points to a non-wet area (i.e. a...

Is there a future for vented systems?

Coming from Canada, and having lived in Europe for some years, I was a bit surprised that people still install vented heating systems in the UK. As a kid I lived in a 1912 house with original cast iron boiler and radiators, and I remember the expansion tank with sight glass, it was in my room...

Visible scorching on a PCB - anxiety about future risk

Hi I had a plumber around for a F28 error on my Valliant ecotec today. He said that as well as there being a faulty valve that needs replacing, the PCB is scorched with an electrical burning smell. He wants to replace both parts which sounds fair enough though super expensive. My question is...

Could lack of pump overrun cause hex problems in the future?

Just thinking... my new boiler (a Viessmann) was installed without pump overrun, apparently it's not required because it has a stainless steel heat exchanger, but when the burner cuts out I see the temperature slowly rise (as reported by the boiler) to around 95 degrees, I assume this is the...

what’s the future hold for smart stats

For all that smart thermostats are said to be, they are just a remote switch. There are so many promises of what they can do, but if they don’t read the fault codes on the boiler, predict faults, suggest energy savings etc what’s the point. But all of this can be done via a connected boiler...

    Wall mounted bath mixer

Hi, has anyone got any tips for installing a wall mounted bath mixer on a solid wall. The threads look to be around 50 mm and then I assume I'm going to need a back plate elbow in the wall to take the thread. Does this mean the wall will have to be built out ? cheers

    The Future of MCS

Ofgem are considering an alternative to MCS for the Domestic RHI :) - implies that there's still going to be some money beyond March 2016.. My opinion is that the CPS bodies are more than capable of certifying installers, the question is though, to what standards. Perhaps MCS should simply...
