fault

In geology, a fault is a planar fracture or discontinuity in a volume of rock across which there has been significant displacement as a result of rock-mass movements. Large faults within Earth's crust result from the action of plate tectonic forces, with the largest forming the boundaries between the plates, such as subduction zones or transform faults. Energy release associated with rapid movement on active faults is the cause of most earthquakes. Faults may also displace slowly, by aseismic creep.A fault plane is the plane that represents the fracture surface of a fault. A fault trace or fault line is a place where the fault can be seen or mapped on the surface. A fault trace is also the line commonly plotted on geologic maps to represent a fault.A fault zone is a cluster of parallel faults. However, the term is also used for the zone of crushed rock along a single fault. Prolonged motion along closely spaced faults can blur the distinction, as the rock between the faults is converted to fault-bound lenses of rock and then progressively crushed.

Worcester Greenstar 24i E9 with code 276 fault

Hi, I am handy DIYer but not interested in touching anything boiler related! Just interested before I get a Gas safe engineer out what I could be looking at for what the problem is and rough cost. So in a nutshell, I put a radiator on in a room in the extension, noticed after that the pressure...

    Ideal Logic +18, intermittent fault

Have an Ideal Logic + 18 with intermittent fault. When on demand the display constantly changes from O to C but burner doesn’t start. Can fix by switching Off then On again, but this only lasts for a day or two. As it’s an intermittent fault I’m reluctant to call out an Engineer. Any ideas?

    Vaillant F23 fault, Reading

I have a Vaillant Ecotec Plus 424 boiler in a closed heating system with 13 rads and 4 towel rails. Rads are steel, pipes are plastic kind of "modern microbore". System water pressure is 1.1 bar. Worcester Boiler - Fault has the engineer stumped (video)

Hello, My mum has a Worcester Greenstar HE30 boiler (15+ years old). Since its last service (and possibly coincidentally) it has been making a booming/banging sound randomly. This is a noise like a pocket of gas igniting and can be loud enough to make you jump. It's been impossible for the...

Could this be my boiler's fault?

Hi there, the water flow in our shower has reduced considerably since we bought our house, meaning the hot water tends to cut off after a minute or two; the shower is fed by a combi boiler: Worcester Bosch RD532i, about 17(!) years old I think. I can't really say if the water pressure in the...

    2 port valve fault finding?

Hey guys. What’s the easiest way of determining that a 2 port motor has failed? I know that if the stat is calling and the arm is set to open on the valve and the actuator is ok it will fire. Is it purely a case of checking whether 240v is at the brown and orange when heat is called for? Any...
