failing
Failure is the state or condition of not meeting a desirable or intended objective, and may be viewed as the opposite of success. The criteria for failure depends on context, and may be relative to a particular observer or belief system. One person might consider a failure what another person considers a success, particularly in cases of direct competition or a zero-sum game. Similarly, the degree of success or failure in a situation may be differently viewed by distinct observers or participants, such that a situation that one considers to be a failure, another might consider to be a success, a qualified success or a neutral situation.
It may also be difficult or impossible to ascertain whether a situation meets criteria for failure or success due to ambiguous or ill-defined definition of those criteria. Finding useful and effective criteria, or heuristics, to judge the success or failure of a situation may itself be a significant task.
It has become a common occurrence that my boiler is failing to respond when the thermostat kicks in.
I hear an audible click from the heatlink when thermostat is turned up but nothing else happens.
Our heating programmer next to the water cylinder is set to continuous and all looks OK.

I see there are various previous threads on this and other sites which discuss Hep2o fittings, I use these fittings and have not had any issues with any that I have fitted, however I have become aware of a few recently which have failed, I know of a block of 45 flats ( 7 years old) where each...
Im having problems with a pressurised hot water system. Keep getting leaks every 4-8 months as the pressure valve fails.
The first valve failed after approx. 4 years from installation. Since then (another 4 years) Ive replaced the vessel 3 times, its had had vales cores 5 times, and Ive put...
Hey guys I have a re-occurrent fault with the boiler in my rented house. The boiler has had many problems and been "fixed" by several engineers but no matter what, the pump always seems to fail and then needs replaced. It's been replaced about 4 times in the last couple of years ( once within a...
I’ve had an issue with my 7 year old Worcester Bosch boiler losing pressure for a couple of months. It’s fine when running, but when I turn it off at night it loses pressure and I have to refill the system in the morning.
The problem has got worse with another weird symptom and I need some...
We have a Glow Worm Flexicom Boiler and on colder mornings it is intermittently failing to fire up.
It's set to come on at 6.20 but on particularly cold mornings it doesn't come on. When it fails it is usually showing an F43 error code, hit the reset button and it fires up fine. The boiler then...
Hi there. I wondered if any of you pro’s have seen a strange fault that I’ve had with my Oil boiler.
Long story short, boiler failed to operate when requested. Not in lockout, had a quick check - I’m an industrial control electrician so handy with a meter - couldn’t find much wrong with...
Hi all, I've got a problem with a Gerberit pneumatic dual flush valve.
It has two buttons on the actuator plate, when pressed individually they do nothing, you now need to press them both at the same time in order to get it to flush. The toilet was installed around 5 years ago with no problems...
Hi all - Got an old Worcester bosch 28i rsf combi that struggles to light - especially from cold.
When heat is demanded, the pilot light fires up first time every time, but then burns itself out - the ignition sequence repeats with the pilot light firing up but then burning out. The boiler...
Hi, just some input this please. Oil supply converted from single pipe to twin pipe in order to eliminate an oil pressure pump system feeding two boilers. Fitted with Tigerloop now and good oil supply available. Initially started ok then only intermittently. Now fails to start. Has had new oil...

I purchased a new home 4 years ago. Since then I have had to call engineers out to our Megaflo 2 System 12 Compact GA around twice a year. Pretty much every time they come they replace all the internals. The problem is that 2 failures a year is way too much and the £350.00 per year warranty...
Greetings all - I am becoming very annoyed that 1 in 3 recently installed remote fire valves have failed - and they are all manufacturers.....and 12 out of about 40 Watchman Alarm have failed; some have never actually worked out of the box mostly just reading a full or empty oil tank.
We have...
Hi.
I am after a bit of advice for finding the fault on my boiler system I have which I rent out. A little info about the system. It is a gravity fed system with an ideal optia he 12 boiler. It is controlled by a Danfoss 102 mechanical timer. The boiler is set to come on at 7.30am to 9 am and...
Unvented water heater question - Gledhill direct 90l
Was called to a club and the water was getting too hot, done some checks and the thermostat was not working (not turning off). Changed the stat and all worked, called back after 2 weeks and it had gone again, put it down to a faulty stat...
Ideal Isar HE30 failing to start CH in the morning until you turn boiler off and on - it then works fine thru the day
Last year it had a new diverter Vv head kit, pcb and heat exchanger after failing to kick in with hot water - anyone got any ideas what is up with it now
Long time no post! Happy new year to all!
About 2 years ago I had an inset backboiler stove (Ború Chieftain) fitted in with the existing OFCH.
Each heating loop was fitted with a non-return valve.
Within 1 week the first valve failed - as in stuck open. To date 2 more have also stuck open.
I...
Hi,
I have a Camray 15/21 external boiler run by the traditional Sundial Y Plan system. All has run well for years but recently I have had a few problems. The boiler has had a new riello burner fitted and also a new boiler thermostat. I have replaced the programmer with a Honeywell ST9400A...
