Hi could anybody tell me whether a flueless gas cooker install should be notified to gas safe? I was under the impression that you didn’t need to unless it provided Heating is this the case as other people have told me different
Hello
I'm doing a gas engineers course and I'm struggling to find any work experience for cooker and gas fire installations. Seems nobody wants new gas fire these days. I'm looking for someone to take me on a job just so I can complete my assignment. I'm based in London and I'm happy to pay if...
I've posted the same question on the electricians forum too.
I'm a general all-rounder. Renovating a 150-year-old cottage.
I've just removed an old Rayburn and want to vent the fan-assist cooker hood up the flue which is cast iron and looks to go all the way up to the chimney from ground floor...
Hi I am recently gas safe qualified. But my course nvq level 3 in plumbing doesn't give you cookers on your gas registration. Though we did the training on them. Been quoted about £200 to be assed on cookers to add to my card. Does this seem about the going rate? Thanks
I have a customer who would like a normal domestic gas oven/ hob installed in a pub, the kitchen it will be used in is not for commercial use (only to be used by the tenant in flat). Would this still be classed as a commercial installation? And would it still require an inlet of air, currently...
hi folks I'm not a plumber and I'm not proposing to do anything myself I just want some advice.
I have just got a new cooker to replace my old slot in one. The old one had a lip at the back and space for the hose/gas pipe, this on has a flat back and stands proud of kitchen units. Ive used the...
Got to go and repair one of these where the top and bottom oven are both very unresponsive and either fully on or turn themselves off. Anyone have any past experiences before I go eyes on.
Hi Guys, can anyone help.
I've just purchased a new range free standing cooker, I invited a Gas Safe engineer to install it, he says its in breach of regulations, is this correct.
The range is 1100mm, the opening the same, it appears the wall cupboards above are the problem, the distance between...
Hi all,
I went to a property today to install a new Range cooker. There was already a Range there but this one has a gas oven instead of an electric oven. There's also a 28KW combi boiler and a 4ish KW gas fire there too.
On commissioning the cooker, the working pressure was about 14mB with...
Been to the above Rayburn and it had fried a ignition transformer on the cooker side and the leads.
So changed the leads, transformer and electrodes.
As well as giving it a damn good service with all the usual bits changed.
I've got to pop back and change a load of seals as they are shot...
My Rayburn 480k keeps sending out strong fumes in to the kitchen and then soon after locks out. The boiler side is fine, it has just been serviced, had a new thermostat, new motor, new flexible tube to the cooker side as it had a big hole in it. The photo cell keeps getting melted, the engineer...

Hi all,
We recently moved house that has a rayburn 400kpf. There's a couple of issues I'd like to try and resolve. Firstly when turning the Rayburn on from cold, it runs for 2-3mins then cuts off as tho upto temp. Move the temp dial down then up it starts again. But only for a minute before it...
I am having difficulty locating a double oven freestanding electric cooker which does not have any doors hinged on the left.
Doors hinged on the right or bottom would fit much better in my kitchen.
I would be interested in any information about new or used cookers which are less than 3...
Bayonet fitting should should allow hose to fall naturally without bending the hose at the connection. A cooker hose that is strained or bent where it connects to bayonet fitting I thought was classified as at risk because there is a Rick the hose could fail.
Someone told me today it's just Ncs.
All,
im after finding a rough price for the installation of a duel fuel range cooker (Smeg TR93BL). I'm in the Stanbury area, Keighley. Gas feed is in kitchen in cooker area.
thanks in anticipation,
Sean Mc
me and my friend have just moved into a new flat. it's august now so its quite warm, but we're concerned about the winter. we've just bought a superser on ebay, but we aren't allowed to bring LPG into the flat. On the other side of the wall that we want to put the superser, there is a disused...
Does anyone know what John Lewis actually do when they swap over a gas or dual fuel cooker?
I'lll give them a call in the morning, they advertise removal and disposal of the old one for £9 and fitting a new one for £75-£85-£95 depending on whether it's a hob or stand alone dual fuel jobbie.
I...
Hi all
New here!! I hope this is the correct section to ask this question. I have got a replacement second hand cooker but the hose connected to it appears to be a different design to the old bayonet cap hose and fitting I have. This new hose will not connect to the old wall connector.
I will...
