CLIPS is a public domain software tool for building expert systems. The name is an acronym for "C Language Integrated Production System." The syntax and name were inspired by Charles Forgy's OPS5. The first versions of CLIPS were developed starting in 1985 at NASA-Johnson Space Center (as an alternative for existing system ART*Inference) until the mid-1990s when the development group's responsibilities ceased to focus on expert system technology. The original name of the project was "NASA's AI Language" (NAIL).
CLIPS was probably the most widely used expert system tool as of 2005. CLIPS itself is written in C, extensions can be written in C, and CLIPS can be called from C. Its syntax resembles that of the programming language Lisp.CLIPS incorporates a complete object-oriented language for writing expert systems. COOL combines the programming paradigms of procedural, object oriented and logical (theorem proving) languages.
Hi
What brand/make of 50mm waste pipe clips is the narrowest? All round band I believe may not pass a building warrant inspection and I'm planning a new small kitchen and need as much cm as possible.
I've been suggested the 77mm protusion of the standard clip of 50mm pipe is the main one but...
I have a copper 22mm gas pipe about 10m long fitted to the outside wall by a Gas engineer using plastic clips with spacers. The clips have become brittle with age and are breaking up. The pipe passes through the brickwork and has no flex in it. Any ideas on how I can replace these clips as the...
I'm trying to refit a "bow" clip onto a valve, similar to the clip and valve shown here.
It came off fine, but my attempts to push it back on have failed. Is there any technique to this, or am I missing something obvious?
I've got a boiler with case clips missing and as case forms part of 'gasway' the boiler was classed as AR.
Now I've come to it and am struggling to find the parts.

I'm not an engineer I'm just looking for some advice i live in a new build since construction have had my boiler serviced every year since i bought the house todays service is the first time i have been notified that my fleu doesn't have any clips fitted to support it i'm just wandering how long...
I’ve got a vantage concealed cistern that had an intermittent problem a couple of years ago whereby the flush wouldn’t shut off and it continuously overflowed into the bowl. As it was a new build I had the builder send a plumber round to resolve the issue.
That worked until recently when it...
Looking at retrofitting some pipe clips to existing pipe runs . Unfortunately when the pipes were install originally there is literally minimal space between them (not by me- probably the original pipe runs), so a pipe clip with the screw space in the centre won’t work and can’t lift the pipes...
Hi All,
Easy (and probably stupid) question. I have to run the pipes for a rad from above on the surface.
I'm intending to run chrome pipes down behind the radiator and into some right angle valves to hide most of the pipework.
Is it ok to use saddle clips to keep the pipes as close to the...
I noticed 110mm soil pipe clips marketed online as being for solvent weld or pushfit pipe.
Is there any reason why these couldn't be used interchangeably?

Just had my 40mm laminate kitchen worktops replaced. The chippy cut the sink cut-out too tight for the clips, then left for another job. The plumber could only get the clips on one side so put them at the back and used a silicone bead to seal. (The sink being re-inserted had an intact cleaned-up...

Hello,
I live in a flat so the soil stack is not something I can move.
I have now fitted the branch to soil pipe and also the pan connector to the pan.
The soil pipe is now flush to the wall.
I want to secure it but all the clips expect the soil pipe to be spaced from the wall.
Has anyone...
Morning all.
I am running some 22mm copper later today, I normally use Talon clips from screw fix, as you can add on spacer blocks for the gap, what other plastic clips do you uses, recommend? I have some munsen rings for an outside run.
Thanks in advance!
Hi guys doing a landlord cert in a house converted to flats, pipework comes out of wall mounted meter box and rises 5m up the wall and through the sofit. The pipework is clipped with plastic clips but not the close lock type. Am I right to write this down as NCS guys?
Many thanks
George
I asked the plumber to connect the waste pipe of the bath and basin to the existing soil stack.
He has cut the soil stack, then connected the pipes, and added 2 large rubber flexible pipes with cable ties.
Is this normal?
I need to install a Circulating pump on the flow just under the boiler so I need to clip it but how would I space it out because the pump had a larger diameter than 22mm pipe and clips? I could just have one clip at the bottom and shorten the length of the pipe coming out the boiler valves...
Anybody know if they are just like munson rings with a bit of threaded bar in between or do I have to screw the bar into the wall?
Also is there a cheaper option as they are expensive for what they are.
Hi all,
i would like to know how much i can notch into the joists running 22mm pipes.
the joist size is 7" X 2".
am i OK to use the talon clips as in pics as this would require me to go notch at least 50mm x 75mm or should i go for nail on clips which are more shallow
thanks.
