Before Present (BP) years, or "years before present" is a time scale used mainly in archaeology, geology and other scientific disciplines to specify when events occurred before the origin of practical radiocarbon dating in the 1950s. Because the "present" time changes, standard practice is to use 1 January 1950 as the commencement date (epoch) of the age scale. The abbreviation "BP" has been interpreted retrospectively as "Before Physics", which refers to the time before nuclear weapons testing artificially altered the proportion of the carbon isotopes in the atmosphere, making carbon dating after that time likely to be unreliable. In a convention that is not always observed, many sources restrict the use of BP dates to those produced with radiocarbon dating; the alternative notation RCYBP is explicitly Radio Carbon Years Before Present.

Is this green copper oxide crust normal?

Hi there I got a Vaillant ecotec pro28 gas combi boiler installed almost 11 months ago. Recently I have had to allow water into the heating system due to the pressure dropping. Red diesel

Is there a rule of thumb when converting to red diesel? Farmer custard of mine just bought a used warm air blower for the truck she'd buy wants to run it on diesel. I think it's an increase in pump pressure and bigger nozzle but by how much and what am I looking for on FGA? Thanks

    Custard nearly had me there!

Thought I'd share this. My usual practice is to always fire a boiler up before servicing it, sometimes I forget, sometimes it's chugging away merrily when I turn up. Today I forgot, and after asking if the boiler is working fine to which the reply was "yes", I found an extremely noisy fuel pump...
