Hi, I am newly gas safe after competing my nvq level 3 in plumbing and heating. I am just wanting to clarify that for rented houses a C02 alarm is needed to be fitted in any room were a fuel burning appliance is installed.
Any idea if open fires is compulsory to have a co alarm fitted? When I do landlord gas certificates and safety checks. I always fit a co alarm near the boiler also near the cooker too. Also does this year they want do alarms fitted through mains instead of battery.
anyone got further details that are set in stone and not 'drafts' of the new law changes for detectors in rented accomodation plz?

Well today's the day, when it's a legal requirement for landlords to provide smoke and co alarms. I can't find any clear cut into of how many....ie one in each room containing a gas appliance?
Hi, with the new laws starting regarding CO Alarms, is there a way of testing that they work other then pushing the test button ? all this is doing is telling you that the alarm works, But how can you test if the sensors are working !! Is there anything on the market at a reasonable price...
