A challenging and unusual question. We have a 40 year old Rayburn in the kitchen providing heating and hot water. I want to update to a modern efficient boiler but we don’t want to lose the Rayburn which is a feature and I don’t really want it as a lump of cold metal sitting there. Aga have...
Hi,
I have an oil-fired Aga with a BM oil control valve and a Flexitemp thermostatic control (see the image in this thread for an example).
When I bought the house I was told by the previous owner that the thermostat didn’t work and so he (and now I) have always run it by setting the flexitemp...
I recently moved to a house with an oil fired Aga. After it sooted up, I adjusted the settings on the BM-30 type oil control valve but am struggling to get it settled again. The Aga is overheating even when the low fire is set at the lowest setting.
I couldn't find a clear set of instructions...

Hi, I'm hoping someone may be able to help with this: I just completed a "normal" service on our oil fired Aga, i.e. removing carbon deposits and ensuring the supply pipe is clear. I managed to light it and it stayed lit for a few hours then died and now won't relight.
This may be relevant -...

I have a very dumb question - being totally new to Aga's - so please be kind!
We have recently bought a house/project. It came with an old Series 2 Aga (pre 1972 as far as I understand) that was converted at some point to oil - using the BM valve. We've had someone look at it, clean it out, and...
The hot water in our house is heated by the Aga. We've got several pinhole leaks appear in a hot water pipe but don't know how to turn off the hot water.
Please help!
Thanks.
