Thanks for everyones help on this - really appreciate you taking the time to reply!
Decision made, we are going with the full Vaillant system as it just makes the whole package easier in the future I hope. Point taken about the VSmart but confident our installer knows what he is doing...
Thanks for all the help.
I originally thought lever valve but when the guy for the water board came to inspect our proposed plan I asked about this and his response was we'd need an stopcock at first entry into the house and then we could fit a lever valve as a fail safe but tap needed to be...
Ha yes, it was the plumb centre.
Thanks for the link, the 25mm MDPE stop taps on the site you linked are less than £10 so why on earth are the Kuterlite ones so MUCH more expensive (cheapest I've seen is still £65)?
Thanks!!

Is that what a good stop tap costs or are these designed for off shore oil rigs??
Just about to have a new 25mm mains supply buried to the road and need a brass stop tap to connect to the MDPE pipe and wondered if there were any recommendations for a good quality tap that hopefully won't restrict any flow.
It has to be a 25mm MDPE to 22mm copper and looking at some taps it...
Thanks for all the suggestions and I think we will stick with the full Vaillant system as it all seems to work together much more seamlessly rather than adding complexity to a mix and match system for a marginal gain in heat loss of the cylinder (0.44 kWh/d difference).
We'll be adding a smart...
Thanks for the reply.
So if I go OSO you basically set one temperature for the rads and that is then the same for hot water basically meaning rads have to be 60+ degrees to heat the water enough.
Thanks for the tip on the dual coil.
Just decided on new heating system comprising of Vaillant system boiler and the latest Unistor unvented cylinder. The newer Unistor cylinders are B rated however OSO now do an A rated cylinder and was thinking long term the OSO should be a considered option. Going fully Vaillant I understand the...
