Worcester, 24cdi Combi, drip from flue

Thank you for the advice. I was getting confused and thought the PRV pipe came out behind the flue! I've seen a bendy pipe lower down which I presume is the PRV . Don't think it's been dripping but will take your advice. I'm wondering if the small amount of drips from the flue is just vapour...

Worcester, 24cdi Combi, drip from flue

Have an old 24cdi which until recently has done well but 3 months ago a new Expansion Vessel was fitted. All was fine until a couple of weeks ago when I noticed the pressure was down to about 0.50. I topped it up to 1.25. Everything's working alright but today I spotted the external flue...

Advice with balancing radiators (Worcester Combi)

No, 'croppies balancing thread' says special thermometer to measure the pipes to a differential of 12c should be used Firstly most plumbers say this is unecessary and can be assessed by hand and secondly no one round here seems to have one. Also, I do not have trvs .

Advice with balancing radiators (Worcester Combi)

Yes I did read all that while searching for help but I haven't got the appropriate thermostat and, in any case, the temperature of the 'flow' pipe constantly changes, depending if the combi is pumping or not.

Advice with balancing radiators (Worcester Combi)

Worcester Combi 24 cdi . 7 Radiators. No TRV's. Testing system prior to winter. Radiators 1-3 upstairs get very hot in a few minutes. Radiator 4 downstairs in lounge hots up a few mins later. Radiator 5 on other side of lounge gets just about OK, Radiators 6 (in extension) added a few years...

Worcester greenstar 18ri purpose of the CH control knob on face

Hi, I have a conventional Greenstar 18ri in a house I rent out. Can anyone explain to me in simple terms the function of the CH control knob on the front of the boiler? When it was installed, the engineer set the knob at about three quarters way round to the right and said that was about the...

Greenstar ri , Want to replace separate timer and thermostat

Sorry but I'm bit of a novice on these things. I have a 7 yr old Greenstar Ri conventional boiler with hot water tank in my new house. When fitted, they wired next to the boiler a Potterden ep2002. This switch is a bit limited in what it can do. You cannot independently have different CH and HW...

    Expansion tank overflowing.

Am looking after a bungalow where Central Heating & Hot Water has been turned off for about a month. In fact I had turned off water supply at stopcock outside because of heavily dripping taps in kitchen. Today the taps were replaced. Great, no more dripping. After fitting taps, the water...

    Honeywell Room Thermostat problem

I have a basic Honeywell Room thermo (turn clockwise to increase temperatue). Fitted by people who installed conventional worcester greenstar last year. Very inaccurate. If you put it at 14c it will come on even when the temp in house is 22c ! Opened it up and presently there is BLUE wire to...

    worcester 24cdi rsf small leak

Brit Gas fitted a new heat exchanger last week & also replaced pressure valve. Previous HE pinholed. Also previous week they had replaced diaphragm, pump and seals. Since the new HE has been fitted, there has been a slight leak at bottom right of boiler. Pressure is very very slightly lower than...

    worcester 24cdi rsf

I would have thought it very unlikely that any BG engineer would sabotage a boiler. Anyway, someone else from BG called in today and said the heat exchange plate was now cracked. Not sure if previous work done has caused this though. Hopefully to be fixed tomorrow !

    worcester 24cdi rsf

No the key is definitely not still plugged in. The key has been taken (unless he's left it inside the boiler). However, the pipe outside the house is dripping.

    worcester 24cdi rsf

Following brit gas visit on Wed (see my reasons for calling - above), .....they apparently fitted new diaphragm / pump / seals / stat, I notice that the pressure clock has gone off the scale and is above 4. What do you think he's done for this to happen ? The boiler still producing Hot...

    worcester 24cdi rsf

I was concerned so eventually called out BritGas on the Homecare agreemnt. To their credit the engineer said the pump and disphragm needed replacing and at the same time he replaced the seals and stat if that means something to someone. The gauge is still at about 2 though but he says thats not...
