Hi, so with the new changes to Part L etc, I guess a test of the system water is now included on everyone's annual boiler service. However, if you had to add inhibitor how much are you guys charging, as some are easy to add to, and some are a bit more complicated. Also OFTEC state that engineers...
Usage would more than likely be the same or near enough, not sure about the price of gas oil at the minute but in Essex it’s around 50ppl.
To be honest you may as well convert to Kero, because when you current boiler does pack up the new condensing boilers only run in Kero.
Not much good when...
I could be wrong but I thought all appliances should be fitted with a remote firevalve? HRM boilers are usually the only kind of exception as usually the burner is higher than the tank. I tend to remove all wheelhead valves and replace for remote type, even if I can't fit it outside, they're...
Ebi transformer.
Danfoss say they don't have intermittent faults but I've had a few that have started playing up.
I'd change that if the leads and electrodes look ok.
Agree with SimonG, easy fix but needs doing properly. Regarding the vessel, you can get a little condensation spit out when depressing the schrader valve, but if a lot of water pours out then a new one is needed, however if you let too much pressure out then it's pressure and system pressure...
I have an old F+E tank that I cut down a little to fit under kitchen taps. Fits all baffles lovely except the bigger Grant ones 19". Plain hot water, pop them in at the beginning then scrub them after everything else is clean with a stiff bristle brush. Works a treat.
I agree with the above, put in a bucket of hot water to soak whilst cleaning the rest, then I scrub with a dish brush (not wire!).
I did hear once about putting washing machine tablets in the water but I've found hot water does the job superbly!
Always change the rubber seal 3009 I think is the...
My bad, I didn't read the bit that said inside lol, can get the internal one, but depending on what this basement is like and if you can get a pipe out you may have to go with a GOK one which are pretty good.
I wonder what he did in the end?!?
@Dave J I would probably go with the Tigerloop at fault, I replaced a boiler which was working fine in that aspect (water jacket failed), but when I replaced the boiler the Tigerloop pi**ed out oil everywhere. Replaced and all was fine. however, by the sounds of it, you don't actually need one...
Bit late to reply, but you can still get the Sterling 40 burners, I would only replace with the same burner, saves any come back if it isn't burning right.
Having said that, I have been working with oil for over 10 years and never had to replace a burner, just repair it, all parts are available...
