Yes it is the law but maybe the law needs to change. id call it theft when someone has got materials which i purchased and they have asked for in their houses and they have not paid for it. It seems all the big companies are covered but nothing for us legitimate tradesmen.

I had around 10 guys working for me a couple of years back and the late payers nearly sent me under. With all the stress i decided to downsize. Its just me now but i do need another plumber but things like this just put me off taking anyone on.

I have a system set up where a day late they get the first reminder then a week later 2nd reminder and another week later final reminder. If i dont here anything i follow up with a phone call. This month though a few people have just plain ignored emails and texts...
