Pink residue / staining on surfaces

Vaguely orange (to near rust colour) residue in showers/baths is usually just soap scum /body fat/cosmetics etc caught in unseen limescale, bleach whitens it for a bit but descaling removes the anchor point.

Blue water staining around rim of bath

I've seen this in many hot tubs and no idea of the (blue) cause but a biocide in the tub to clean the tubes sorted it really quickly - basically put the Jacuzzi on full for a bit with the biocide (chlorine/descaler/degreaser) and it'll strip any crud off the pipes that may be re-depositing at...

Plumbing & heating parts to your van

So a scrummy courier can suss out a van' s contents then send his door folding scrote mates round, would save said scumy gits loads of time bending open loads of empty vans in search of the full ones - may have to bend the odd empty ones for 'cover' though.

What do you recommend for bath waste kit?

I bought a McAlpine Clicker waste (£31 screwfix #50504) good brand, beautifully made and easy to fit with supplied spanner.

How High To Place A Cistern?

My concealed cistern is in same height unit but is set lower by virtue of the mounting brackets that ensure service clearance (just). Flush end needs to be vee notched to follow shape of internal moulding to achieve best spray pattern apparently - a tip from a plumber in Plumbase. It does work...

    Very high water bill mystery!

Some meters have a little turbine wheel spinning that shows miniscule water use (that is still significant over time) and easily indicates flow long before a digit will move.

    dishwasher install .

Integrated alliance's fit the nominal gap, in your case 600, so the appliance is 596-598 and sits on the floor with the plinth hiding the legs. So it'll just slide into a 600 gap - or if you've got a 600 cupboard with sides reducing the gap to ~560 then just pull the thing out? I'd be surprised...

    New bathroom waste advice please

40mm across the threads is 1 1/4" waste size, it needs 32mm pipe if push fit.

    New bathroom waste advice please

You sure you don't need the 32mm size for a basin (#20705)? Then use a pushfit street elbow this will be as tight a bend as you could want - 40757 (32mm). If it really is the larger size then use 51088 street elbow and an 88583 reducer to 32mm.

House Not Warm Enough When all Radiators Fully Open

80f/26C is very hot! Try dropping a bit so perhaps everywhere becomes more even, rather than one room being 80 and others at 70 and feeling 'cooler' even though 70f is usual design temperature and enough to sit in a tee-shirt!
