Will these isolation valves be ok like this for a few weeks?

Would you do this just to cover the pipes or use this to actually cap the pipe off instead of turning the isolation valves? I was looking at these and using them with the existing olive and not exactly like you said.

Will these isolation valves be ok like this for a few weeks?

I’ve removed the sink from downstairs cloakroom as we are getting new flooring and a new vanity unit and sink installed over the next few weeks. I’m now thinking maybe these isolation valves may not be ok left like this?? If they were going to leak it fail in some way surely they would have by now??

Best with combi or system boiler?

Unfortunately yes. We are putting in a new kitchen, bifold doors as well so we’ve got loads going on. I want to take my time with the boiler though and pick the right one with an installer I’m happy with. 1597092187 Thanks for all the advice today. I’ve been on Worcester Bosch and Veissmann...

Best with combi or system boiler?

£4138!!! for a Worcester Greenstar 8000 life 35kw. That’s moving it into the garage too but I would consider keeping it in the kitchen just moved along the wall slightly. The Viessmann and Baxi are less than £3k on Boilercentral online fixed price. 1597078316 1597078343

Best with combi or system boiler?

Just checked mains pressure on outside tap with nothing else running and getting at least 4 bar. Slight variations in readings each time and on average between 4 and 4.5 bar. Flow rate at kitchen sink tap is 17ltrs/minute. I’ve had a FaceTime survey with Eon today and although they are very...

Best with combi or system boiler?

If I opt for a system boiler then I want rid of the tanks in the loft. The job is in Bedlington in Northumberland but unfortunately we will have to take it on finance so looking for one over 7 or 10 years.

Best with combi or system boiler?

Thanks for the advice. With regards to the mains pressure is it ok to measure it with a gauge attached to the outside tap? With regards to flow rate I know it’s not very scientific but I’ve read about filling a container over 6 seconds and then doing the maths to work out the flow. I know it’s...

The flow of the hot water is not as good as we would like currently

Best with combi or system boiler?

I’m after some advice. We are replacing our 21 year old Ideal Classic boiler and have been looking at the pros and cons of combi vs system boilers. House is a 3 bed detached, 9 radiators, 1 bath tub, 1 shower. Boiler is currently on an external wall and we will be looking to move it into the...

Bath shower mixer...increase back pressure to keep diverter up

I’ve already found that reducing the 2m hose to a 1.5m length has made it work better

Bath shower mixer...increase back pressure to keep diverter up

OK cheers. If it’s all based on the pressure in the supply how come the diverter doesn’t stay up when the hose is disconnected altogether? When I take the hose off and try it the knob just gets pulled straight back down.

Bath shower mixer...increase back pressure to keep diverter up

I have a gravity fed system and have recently fitted a bath shower mixer tap designed to work at low pressure (0.2 bar). Granted the diverter knob will stay up most of the time but it’s bit hitty missy. Am I right in thinking that if I get a smaller bore hose it will provide more back pressure...

Help with bacteria in header tank....biocide??

I have an open vented CH system and it has been on my to do list to drain down and add cleaner. I have used Fernox products in the past but recently bought Corgi branded cleaner, inhibitor and boiler silencer at a good price from Toolstation. Prior to draining down I went into the loft to clean...
