    Water hammer advice needed

Hi I think I might have a water hammer- when I flush the toilet or close the bath/ kitchen tap too fast I hear a ‘thunk’ sound. We have a pressure limiter at the main- limits the house to 3 bar. The water softener likely takes this down a bit further. Do I need to be worried? Given the...

Water gushing out tap and shower- while off

The shower is from them too- it’s a push button system- however normally you can’t have both outlets on at once- they were both pelting out water. not the best way to spend a Saturday!

Water gushing out tap and shower- while off

The shower and bath were both supplied by me for them to fit. While the shower was running— when we didn’t expect/ it was fine, stayed in the shower and drained off. The bath, other side of the room, was the issue as the tap came off the wall- so water didn’t go into the bath and drain as...

Water gushing out tap and shower- while off

So likely to be the tiles and everything will have to come out? 1597522997 Should I call my insurance company now? Or wait until the plumber has come over- as it was only finished 2 weeks ago I’d assume he’d cover responsibility

Water gushing out tap and shower- while off

HI We recently had our en-suite refitted- been using it about a week. Earlier today we noticed water coming through the ceiling of the room under it. we ran upstairs and found water coming out the shower heads and out if the bath tap- the tap has actually come away from the tiles. Nothing had...

LPG or Oil- just moved in

Indeed What you you expect a Grant Vortex external 26-35w to cost? I think we are leaning towards LPG given the very high cost of moving to oil

LPG or Oil- just moved in

Second quote for a external Grant Vortex, with 1300l tanks and a unvented cylinder in the loft, £12k.

LPG or Oil- just moved in

I have a few other quotes to come. I expected oil to cost more- but £4k is a big difference!

LPG or Oil- just moved in

£1000 was laying the concrete base for the tank. Worcester Danesmoor 25/32 Tank is a 1300l

LPG or Oil- just moved in

First quote for a new LPG boiler is in, £3200. Calor will upgrade the tank for £150 after some discussion. Will await some oil quotes to compare.

LPG or Oil- just moved in

house has electric for oven and hob. Im a bit surprised, I assumed most people would be saying oil- if you google LPG or Oil then no one has a good word to say about LPG

LPG or Oil- just moved in

Thanks, I'll ask them. Am awaiting some quotes for oil systems too. We're never intending to move, so we have a long time to recover the costs. But the main aim is just getting a heating system that works reliably! We have some money left after the move, about £8k which we'd ideally like to...

LPG or Oil- just moved in

Thanks, I had thought that might be the case. However, as Calor want £500 to give me a new tank (we want a larger one), this does cover some of the oil tank outlay.
