Discuss I am trying to swap the stopcock as it just keeps turning when trying to turn off the water. There is a grey thing on top I'm not sure what it is? in the USA area at PlumbersForums.net
Thanks for replying. It turns about 10 times then tightens up but water keeps flowing...
Pressure reducing valve
the stop tap will take a good 10-15 turns (clockwise) to close
Thanks I'll try that.If that doesn't stop it eventually turn it off in the road and put a new washer in the stoptap
Sounds like outside isn’t shut off completely, or letting by. Is it enough to do what you want to do?Turned the water off on the road and all taps go off apart from kitchen. Slows the flow but doesn't go off after running for 30mins. Any ideas to why this is? We have a pressure system on the middle floor. No tank in the loft. Thanks.
It is enough as changing upstairs tap. Just weird why. I guess it makes sense it's not completely turning off. Ta.Sounds like outside isn’t shut off completely, or letting by. Is it enough to do what you want to do?
He very kindly said unless it's damaged ie water leaking it's not their problem. I will be taking that one further!Time to phone the water board as it’s there stop tap tell them it’s not turning off
