Since replacing the expansion vessel on our Viessman 333 gas boiler, we've experienced a major problem. When we want hot water only,(DHW) setting, the radiators are being activated! Obvious solution may be with the 3 way port, but the complete heating system is now automatically switching itself...

I’ve had a new bathroom put in and having problems with the shower. The pressure is awful and runs cold after about 3-4 minutes. The hot water still comes out of the taps and we have another shower which has never run out of hot water after 15/20 minutes plus and is still working perfectly. The...

@Lou and I have an issue with out water. It's often Chlorinated heavily. Sometimes not so bad. Too often to guarantee a nice glass of water, but not often enough to get bloody used to it. So I keep noticing it. Now I've looked online, and a filter seems to be the way to go. I aren't going to...

We're clearly going through some clearing up at the moment and it's easy to get caught up in that. I've just unbanned somebody I banned assuming they were in the same posting pattern as a troll I banned. Turns out they weren't. And just perhaps clicked like on a couple of their posts as they're...

Just bought a property and having problems with a loose toilet seat. There are Allen screws keeping the seat in place but if I try to tighten them it’s still loose. Is it a toilet that needs removing to gain access to the underside in order to tighten the seat?

Hello. I'm hoping for some advice, please. I am having a new bathroom installed with a walk-in shower, using a strong resin shower tray. The glass shower screen (2m high, 1.1m wide, 8mm thick) was attached to the wall yesterday but the wall and tray were not square. At the wall end, the screen...

Hi all - my first post! I'm trying to help my dad sort out his very hot radiators and find out why it makes no difference to the radiator heat when the TRV setting is reduced i.e. regardless of what the TRVs are set to (i.e. regardless of whether the TRV is at the frost setting, or settings 1...

Hi, a stopcock has seized and I need to replace it but the pipe is an unusual rubber/ plastic material. It’s approximately an inch ID. Has anyone got any advice for replacement compatible fittings? Will it need inserts etc? Thanks in advance and some pics below.

I have replaced a radiator and I managed to spill some of the contents of the old rad on the carpet. Is there any way to remove the black stain? It's an industrial grade carpet so I can use pretty much any chemical on it but i have no idea what I can use that will remove the iron oxide. Any...
