Hi all, thank you so much in advance for any help. I’m always really grateful for the advice and support from experts when I have been on here a few years ago.

There’s a dripping coming from my bathroom and I can hear it coming from behind the toilet and I’m worried it’s causing a buildup which could cause the ceiling to creak downstairs. It’s going to be a day or two before my landlord can get a plumber out and so I want to turn off the water. I’ve turned off the stopcock underneath my downstairs sink, but the water is still running upstairs.. is there such thing as a separate upstairs stopcock? I’ve added a picture of the hot water tank which is the only place I can see any handles to turn, but they both seem very tight already and can’t go clockwise any further.
Any thoughts as to where else I might find a stopcock would be gratefully received.

Thank you,

Tom

If you want to play it really safe you can turn the stopcock off then open the kitchen tap. If that stops then open your bath/basin taps upstairs and just leave them open for 30mins and it will drain all water from the cistern in the attic and then you should have no problems, don't forget to then open the hot on the kitchen sink to remove any water sitting in the hot pipes

If your kitchen sink doesn't stop relatively quickly when the stopcock gets turned off then you probably need to turn it off in the road
