Is this an air separator?

Hello,
I have been sent this and they said it’s leaking near the top.
Am I right in thinking this is an air separator and the top is leading up to the vent pipe of F&E tank?
All the ones they seem to sell look totally different.

Yes it looks like one. I haven’t seen one in a very long time.

Terrible things just re pipe as a H section.
Tee the flow and expansion together
Horizontal section max of 150mm another tee to pick up flow and cold feed job done.

Bes.co.uk sell one although not quite the same shape. There is no trap though to remove dirt that collects in the bottom of the swirl.

H pipe as Exedon post is way to go now I understand from the experts.

Assume it has corrosion inhibitor in?
